The corona pandemic is being felt throughout the mechanical and plant engineering sector in North Rhine-Westphalia. However, according to the VDMA's 6th Blitz Survey, the majority of North Rhine-Westphalian mechanical engineering companies (more than 80 percent) are confident that they will be able to return to the nominal sales level of 2019 by 2022.
The corona pandemic continues to have a firm grip on the mechanical and plant engineering sector in North Rhine-Westphalia. According to the VDMA's 5th Blitz Survey, almost all of the North Rhine-Westphalian mechanical and plant engineering companies surveyed see their operations impaired. The results reflect the responses of 697 companies - 191 of which are from NRW.
VDMA NRW welcomes the decision of the Norht Rhine-Westphalian state government to support the economy in the Corona pandemic. The mechanical and plant engineering industry has been severely affected by the virus, and has had to struggle with slumps in sales and supply bottlenecks to date.
In recent weeks, the Executive Board of the NRW state association has been intensively discussing the effects of the corona crisis on the mechanical and plant engineering industry. Against this background, the VDMA NRW welcomes the state government's announcement that a 10 impulse program will enable an economic and modernization boost.
